I think because of the large quantity of themes in the game, electronic music is more fitting since there are several electronic genres that can be categorized in the game. (i.e. lots of trance, some house, some jazzy-type house, etc)

It's only recently that Capcom officially hinted the winner of the SF2 tournament and to stop a who's-who war it was Guile. Abel is coming INTO the spot light. Example would be in SF4 Ryu was the main and Abel the shadow; now Abel is the main in SSF4 and Ryu has been slightly pushed aside. Leading to SF3 were he is no longer the main character but a support.
